Designed for use in an upper-level environmental law course, or as a supplement in the basic environmental law course, this book develops the knowledge and skills a lawyer will need to practice in the environmental law field. The book is organized around the types of environmental practice: compliance, enforcement, litigation, policy, and permitting. It places readers in the three key roles played by environmental lawyers―government attorney, corporate counsel, and public interest advocate―and provides practice pointers for each of these types of work. Students will explore the major environmental regulatory areas through problems and exercises that foster a deeper understanding of the substantive law while honing the skills necessary for successful practice.
