Environmental Pollution in China is NF. Wrappers are bright, clean, and glossy; front wrap has the faintest phantom of an incipient bend, barely there. Corners square, spine uncreased. No names, underlining, highlighting, marks, or dogears internally. Very clean. Published in 2018 by Oxford UP. The Great Smog of China by Ahlers, Hansen, and Svarverud is VG minus. Traces of thumbing and general handling are evident; front wrap is curling at corners. Spine is uncreased. No names or writing internally and pages are generally clean and clear, but there is occasional highlighting in pink; luckily, it is confined to the first chapter and goes no further. Published in 2020 by the Association for Asian Studies, Ann Arbor; ISBN 978-0-924304-92-7. Both volumes sold as a set.

But that progress has come at great cost: the extreme pollution of China's air, water, and soil has taken a stark toll on human health. In Environmental Pollution in China: What Everyone Needs to Know®, Daniel K. Gardner examines the range of factors -- economic, social, political, and historical -- contributing to the degradation of China's environment. He also covers the public response to the widespread pollution; the measures the government is taking to clean up the environment; and the country's efforts to lessen its dependence on fossil fuels and develop clean sources of energy. Concise, accessible, and authoritative, this book serves as an ideal primer on one of the world's most challenging environmental crises.

**A word about our shipping rate: ** In comparison to some other sellers, our shipping fees may seem high. We do try to keep our fees in line with current U.S. postal rates and our cost of shipping supplies, both of which increase regularly. The current cost to ship a book weighing up to 1 lb via post office media mail is $4.47. We package books with care, and also use recycled packaging when we can.
U.S. Domestic Priority Mail rates are based on the small flat rate box or flat rate padded envelope. If you choose U.S. Domestic Priority shipping, your rate may be adjusted depending on the size and shape of the book(s) ordered.
The United States Postal Service requires the recipient's full name or a company name. If an order is placed by a purchaser lacking a last name, we will attempt to contact the purchaser by the associated email address to ascertain a last name. In no case will we accept an order, or send a book, without the recipient's last name.
We always issue a tracking number after shipping an order.
