In the first volume of the exciting Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace, turmoil has engulfed the Galactic Republic. The taxation of trade routes to outlying star systems is in dispute. Hoping to resolve the matter with a blockade of deadly battleships, the greedy Trade Federation has stopped all shipping to the small planet of Naboo. While the Congress of the Republic endlessly debates this alarming chain of events, the Supreme Chancellor has secretly dispatched two Jedi Knights, the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy, to settle the conflict... Reviews
Grade 4–8—Each of these slim volumes adapts George Lucas's film of the same name. Jedis Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi Wan Kenobi are on their way to Naboo to settle a trade dispute, but instead discover that Naboo is trying to capture the Queen. The artwork, done in vivid colors, does come alive, but the tellings fall short.—Esther Keller, I.S. 278, Marine Park, NY
