Marbled endpapers. Internally very good, with no foxing. Slight loss to head of pp.i-ii of preface at junction with spine. Firmly bound in brown full calf, triple gilt rule to borders of boards, five raised bands to spine, blind-stamped and gilt decorations to compartments. Slightly scuffed at extremities, two centimetre split at junction of head of spine and upper board, but hinge holding firm. Name of Catherine Bethia Hobbs 1796 to verso of ttle-page, and her married name, Catherine Bethia Willson 1803, to verso of front free endpaper. Below this in pencil is the name of Catherine Anna Willson, her daughter. Bookplate of Ernest Bryan Gipps, leader of the Folkestone Municipal Orchestra, to front pastedown. A very good copy.
