Third edition. Some wear to boards, & a little scrape to the rear pastedown. This copy used to belong to Sydney Cockerell, & has his signature on the reverse of the ffep. There is also W. H. Smith's blindstamp on the ffep. The binding remains solid, but some signatures feel a little loose. Some numbers have been noted in pencil on a blank page at the end of the book. A later prospectus for the Cape edition of Butler's works is loosely inserted.
