Eric Flint's 1632 & Beyond Issue #4

Join us on a journey through the 1632verse, where the past and present collide in unexpected ways. "Fire on the Mountain" by Bjorn Hasseler was inspired by a real-life event  in Mannington, WV, the town Grantville is modeled on. This real-world arson case combined with discussions on the 1632verse sparked a tale of survival and hope in the town of Grantville. Sometimes the real world provides the missing piece to make a 1632 story come together.

Meanwhile, in "A Knight's Tale—Therapies" by Edith Wild, two familiar faces from previous 1632 stories, Amalia and Maggie, find themselves caught up in a series of strange occurrences. As they try to make sense of the chaos, they realize that their lives may be in danger.

But it's not just the residents of Grantville who are facing challenges. In "Another Country Heard From" by Jack Carroll, we go back in time to see how the Dutch came to possess a valuable radio in 1637: The Coast of Chaos. As secrets are revealed and alliances are formed, the fate of the nation hangs in the balance.

And in the Assiti Shards universe, Iver P. Cooper brings us "Birds of the Muses," a story of survival and courage aboard the Queen of the Seas. As Melissa, a passenger on the ship, uses her skills as a beekeeper to navigate a dangerous situation, she must also confront her own fears and doubts.

As we delve deeper into this captivating world, we are reminded that every decision, every action, can have far-reaching consequences. And in this issue, we see how the past, present, and future are all intertwined. Don't miss out on these thrilling tales from the 1632verse.
