I Escaped The World's Deadliest Shark Attack: The Sinking of the USS Indianapolis, WW2

Josh, a 16-year-old sailor and baseball fan, bravely battles sharks and massive waves after a WWII torpedo sinks the USS Indianapolis battleship.

From multi-award-winning Ellie Crowe and Scott Peters comes a gripping survival story for kids age 9-12, based on true events.

Josh, a 16-year-old baseball player from San Antonio, Texas, is elated to be serving as a WW2 sailor on the powerful USS Indianapolis. However, in the middle of the night, a Japanese torpedo strikes the battleship, tearing it in half.  Josh is thrown from the deck and plunged into the ocean's murky depths. Clinging to his life vest, he witnesses the battleship's descent into the abyss. Josh is a brave kid but he's no swimmer-he's way out of his element. Soon, hungry sharks begin to circle and his worst nightmare becomes a reality. With no lifeboat or food in sight, how long can he survive? Every hour is a battle, and if he loses hope, he'll never make it home. Can Josh survive the worst naval disaster in U.S. history?
