He coined the term for the pulmonary disease bronchitis and was the first to differentiate bronchitis from pleurisy and pneumonia through the essays he wrote in 1808 and 1814.] Contains Dedication to His Royal Highness the Duke of Sussex, and Preface to the first edition, dated 1808; Preface to the Second edition dated 1814. A very rare edition. Later binding, grey paper covered boards. Condition: Very good. With stamps and handwritten inscription on title page showing it came from the Infirmary Library Manchester. Manchester Infirmary stamps to the Prefaces. Otherwise unmarked internally with very little in the way of age toning or foxing. Size: 7 x 4,5 inches / 18 x 11 cm 168 pages. Weight: 200g.
