A very scarce copy of the second edition of this theological work by Scottish writer John Dick, in the original boards. The very scarce second edition, corrected and enlarged. In the original paper covered boards. Including the half title page. A work by John Dick, a Scottish minister and theological writer. Originally published in 1800, this work gave him a standing as a theological writer. He rebutes the argument that regarding the descending obligation of the Scottish covenants, those who were not impressed by arguments in its favour from the Old Testament, could not believe in the inspiration of the Old Testament books. In the original paper covered boards. Externally, loss of spine. Marks to boards, with shelf wear to extremities. Hinges failed, with boards held by two spine threads to the front, and one to the rear, thus very fragile. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with light spotting and age toning. Fair.
