Small amount of worming in last half of book - sometimes obstructs a few letters of text. According to Lowndes "this essay was printed at the author's expense." Bound in full reddish-brown morocco. A penciled note on the rear paste down attributes the binding to Douglas Cockrell - "the pupil and disciple of Cobden-Sanderson." The monogram "WHS" is gilt stamped on the lower rear turn-in.
