xxxiii, 244, and 24 pages of ads. First issue of Buchan's "first formal appearance in print, completed at the age of nineteen" [Hillier & Ross 189]. With the 1895 ownership inscription of his Brasenose College friend B.C. Boulter to front free endpaper; above which: "With love from John Buchan". Spine faded, and rubbed at head and heel. A few leaves unopened, no marginalia; binding is sound. The Scott Library advert lists to number 89; this volume is number 88. 7 x 5 inches. Seller Inventory # Books014687
