This is a nicely bound copy of "Essays" by RALPH WALDO EMERSON. Circa 1910's (there is no date of publication stated); Thomas Nelson and Sons; New York. First Series and Second Series - two volumes in one. This copy has been bound in three quarter leather with two raised bands and gilt lettering and decorations on the spine. Gilt top page edges. There are 21 poems in all, including "Self Reliance" and "Nature." Smaller in size - the book measures 6 1/2" tall x 4 1/2" wide.

Condition:
There are a few light scratches on the covers. Sharp cover corners. Light foxing to the gilt top page edges. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. Nice interior - the pages are clean and white with no writing, stains, or foxing. The half title page and facing title page and the contents page and facing "History" page are still partially attached along the bottom edge - each page has a small tear at the bottom edge that presumably resulted from trying to separate them. There are numerous other pages that are still attached along the bottom edge. Overall the book is in Very Good- condition.
