Add to basketRALPH WALDO EMERSON ESSAYS COMPLETE IN 2 VOLUMES A.L. BURT NO DATE. I used to think of A.L. Burt Co. of New York as a reprint publisher but occasionally, they surprise me. Here s a case: Essays by Ralph Waldo Emerson in two volumes, undated. These small hard cover books (5 ½ x 7 ½ inches, Vol. I- 364 pp. & Vol. II- 280 pp. plus another 100 pages of the Life of Emerson & 4 pages of bibliography) were published by A.L. Burt Co. of New York, no date, but issued as part of Burt s Home Library. They are bound in dark blue boards with simple and elegant gilt decorations and titles on the spines. Condition: This set of books is in very good condition. I would have graded them NF if but for a few pages mis-folded (now straightened) in Volume I. The hard covers are very slightly bumped but generally clean and bright with a few tiny marks on front cover of Volume II. The interior pages are clean and bright, without toning or foxing. The page edges have some minor foxing. All the hinges are intact, and the bindings are tight and sound. These books are not ex-library or remainders. Language: ENG.
