This spectacular guide provides the most efficient means to communicate, share information, and access data in the global marketplace.
The Essential Netscape Communicator Book will require a greater commitment than some of its tutorial counterparts, but you'll gain more by reading this book through. Like other how-to guides, this manual organizes the information in a progressive fashion and devotes a section--made up of multiple chapters--to each of Communicator's components. While this organization leaves some of the sections slimmer than others, it also makes for quick reference. A few sections appear to have been finished at the last minute; for example, the section on Netcaster is titled "Netscape Constellation Essentials", referring to the pre-beta code name of the component.
The chapters on Web page creation with Composer go into more detail than most other Communicator books. The section on Navigator is equally as extensive, covering not only the browser and the expanses of the Web but other Internet resources you can access as well. Some Internet and Web books tend to lump non-Web resources (FTP, Gopher, Usenet) into one section or group of sections, but The Essential Netscape Communicator Book correctly organizes such topics by the tools used to access them.
This is an excellent tutorial for familiar and experienced users, and more adventurous beginners could certainly do a lot worse. As a reference tool, The Essential Netscape Communicator Book will make an excellent supplement to Netscape's online documentation and included manual.
