Essentials of Educational Technology

The book is primarily designed to be used as a standard textbook in teacher training colleges. It is essentially 'student-centred' and 'examination-oriented'. All possible efforts have been made to fully meet the needs of the students preparing for B.Ed., L.T., B.T. and B.A. (Education) examinations. It provides a comprehensive treatment of all topics on which questions are usually asked. All pros and cons of a topic are dealt with in a very cogent and lucid manner so as to enable the students not only to have a complete grasp but also obtain maximum marks in examinations. Wherever needed, the text is supplemented by suitable diagrams and tables. The book is expected to be a trustworthy friend, philosopher and guide to those teaching through this book. This volume, by virtue of its practical approach, will also be very useful for in-service programmes of various categories of personnel engaged in education. The author owes a special thanks to Prof. R. Srinivasan, Department of Education, Technical Teachers' Training Institute, Kolkata, for providing the information which is reproduced in the last four lines of page 2 and first ten lines of page 3 of this book frorn his article "Educational Technology-Conceptualization, Classification and Clarification" that appeared in the journal University News dated July 30, 1990, which reads as "In this technological era ... entire educational scenario."
