Description:
First Macmillan edition, originally published in 1911 by Charles Scribner's Sons. Pale red coarse cloth boards with gilt frame and lettering on cover and spine. Spine: heavily faded with a few insect stains, minor bump and very small wear hole at tail. Board corners a bit worn and bent. Rough cut pages. Slight lean and loosening of hinges, binding otherwise sound. Ffep has two ink inscriptions by previous owners. Significant foxing to eps, less so to prelims. Majority of text block is comparatively clean. Short tears (5mm) at head of pp 45 to 48. 188 x 135mm, 196pp. Seller Inventory # 003803
