About the Author: Alexander B. Murphy is professor of geography and Rippey Chair in Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Oregon. Terry G. Bella Bychkova Jordan is an instructor in the Department of Geography and the Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies at the University of Texas, Austin.
