European Culture and the Media (Intellect Books - Changing Media, Changing Europe) (Vol 1)

European Culture and the Media presents new research and thinking on cultural globalisation, with special focus on and in-depth analysis of a number of cases and dimensions in European media culture and its broader social, political and economic context.

 

The book is written by some of the most prominent European media researchers from both the humanities and social sciences.  It offers a provocative and new interdisciplinary look at the modern European media culture, and at the same time introduces new theories, empirical data and analysis of media communciation, genres and media institutions.

Ib Bondebjerg is professor of film and media studies and director of the Centre for Modern European Studies at the University of Copenhagen. He is the editor of the  journal Northern Lights: Film and Media Studies Yearbook.

Ib Bondebjerg is Professor at the Department of Film and Media Studies, University of Copenhagen, and currently director of The Center for Media and Democracy in the Network Society.

 

Peter Golding is Professor of Sociology and Head of the Department of Social Sciences at Loughborough University in the UK, and is co-director of the University’s Communication Research Centre.
