A gorgeous yet subtle binding, the front board is blind stamped to reveal a rich purple undertone, the back cloth is higlighted in orange. A very sound binding except for the unfortunate detaching of the first two leaves (which are attached to each other and also host one small tear). 9 illustrations, occasional unintrusive pencil such as 'The Manchester Poet' under Swaine's name. Edges of cloth rubbed; first 2 leaves detached but present, with a small tear to them; occasional spotting; a little dust. A supposedly 'waterproof' binding.
