Perimenopause can make familiar things suddenly feel unfamiliar. You may be exhausted but unable to sleep, calm one moment and overwhelmed the next, or perfectly fine until anxiety seems to arrive out of nowhere. This book helps you understand the connection between hormonal fluctuations and the nervous system, then gives you simple, practical tools you can use in real life.
You don't need to overhaul your entire life. Many of the practices in this book take just two to five minutes and are designed to fit into ordinary moments, from a stressful morning to a 3 a.m. wake-up or a hot flash in the middle of a meeting.
Inside this practical guide, you'll learn how to:
• Understand what's happening inside your body and why hormonal fluctuations can affect stress response, sleep, mood, temperature regulation, and mental clarity.
• Respond to sudden anxiety and panic with practical grounding techniques, breathing exercises, orienting practices, and an easy same-day calming sequence.
• Manage hot flashes and night sweats by identifying personal triggers, using cooling strategies, practicing paced breathing, and creating a more supportive environment.
• Improve your chances of better sleep by addressing the 3 a.m. wake-up, racing thoughts, nighttime overheating, and nervous-system arousal.
• Handle rage and irritability differently by recognizing the physical patterns behind emotional overload and learning ways to return to baseline more reliably.
• Work with brain fog instead of fearing it, including practical memory workarounds for conversations, household tasks, and the workplace.
• Build a daily rhythm that supports your nervous system, with guidance around movement, recovery, nutrition, sleep, stress load, and sustainable everyday habits.
You'll also discover in-the-moment strategies, symptom-tracking ideas, practical workarounds, daily routines, and realistic ways to make these practices part of your life rather than another overwhelming health project.
This isn't a promise of permanent calm or a substitute for medical care. It's a practical companion designed to work alongside the medical choices you make, while helping you better understand and support your nervous system through hormonal change. The book itself emphasizes that nervous-system regulation means being able to return to baseline more reliably, not eliminating every normal emotional response.
You are not failing. Your body is changing, and there are practical ways to support it.
Start building a calmer, more manageable daily routine through perimenopause. Pick up your copy today and begin with the tools that fit what you're experiencing right now.

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
