On The Evils Of Disunity In Central And Local Administration: Especially With Relation To The Metropolis And Also On The New Centralization For The People (1885)

On The Evils Of Disunity In Central And Local Administration: Especially With Relation To The Metropolis And Also On The New Centralization For The People is a book written by Edwin Chadwick in 1885. The book focuses on the negative effects of disunity between central and local administration, particularly in relation to the metropolis. Chadwick argues that this disunity leads to inefficiency and a lack of coordination between different levels of government. In addition to discussing the problems caused by disunity, Chadwick also proposes a solution: a new form of centralization that would better serve the needs of the people. He argues that this new system would allow for greater coordination and cooperation between central and local government, leading to more effective governance overall. The book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of government administration, particularly in relation to the challenges faced by large urban centers. Chadwick's insights and proposals continue to be relevant today, as governments around the world struggle to balance the needs of central and local administration in an increasingly complex and interconnected world.Together With Improvements In Codification And In Legislative Procedure. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
