Evolution of Faith, Roots of the Origins Debate

The discussion of Darwinian of Evolution vs. Fiat Creation and the variants of each scenario has come to life periodically since the publication of Darwin's books in 1859 and 1871. The conversations have frequently produced more heat than light, especially when the teaching of these two theories has become entangled in the legal system. In fact, there has been very little open public discussion of the relevant verifiable evidence that might support the contradictory claims of each camp. Instead, the advocates of each viewpoint resemble the fans of professional sports teams, who root with great vigor for their chosen team based on criteria other than reason or evidence.
