The Evolution of the Turkish Banking Sector

My job involves combating money laundering at major French banks. Banking activities, which form the cornerstone of financial markets, influence economic and social prosperity. This is why banks, when conducting their business-which they must carry out efficiently and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations-cannot act with complete freedom. The first part of the book addresses the evaluation of the Turkish banking system. The second part is devoted to banking inspection activities and challenges: a number of amendments have been made to banking laws to enable banks to operate more efficiently and to withstand financial instability. The third part focuses on the structure of the institutions created during the banking sector's restructuring process and on the legal adjustments made to ensure that existing institutions operate more effectively.
