I have perused your Book, called Exempla Minora, and have taken the liberty to correct it as I thought proper, by omitting all such examples as were too difficult for the Children, for whose use they were designed; by adding others, and so adapting them to the Grammar Rules, that no one example may prevent or anticipate a subsequent Rule: This is certainly necessary; and what, I find, others have proposed, but not sufficiently executed. I trust it is now better adapted to the use of the Lower Forms, and will be found a proper introduction to the Exempla Moralia.' 6803.
