Dust jacket condition: Near Fine minus: very clean glossy illustrated front and rear panel; one short (1cm) closed tear to top edge of rear panel and slight crease, otherwise unmarked; not price clipped (£5.25). The remarkable account of the investigation and pursuit of justice for the 50 (of 69) RAF officers who broke out of the German prisoner-of-war camp, Stalag Luft III, were recaptured and shot by the Gestapo by the personal order of Adolf Hitler. The film "The Great Escape" told of the breakout, recapture and shooting, but not of the long search for justice that followed.
