The 25 laboratory exercises are class-tested, and proven flexible and adaptable in any state or province. Participating in hands-on learning activities within your local community, students gain increased awareness of their impact on the environment. The authors provide a diverse yet balanced mix of in-lab and field-work exercises. The foundation of the manual Experiences in Environmental Science is designed to stand-alone: it will correlate to any environmental science or conservation textbook. # Designed for non-sciences majors, the authors do not assume students have had courses in biology or other sciences. # A foundation of the scientific method. Each exercise challenges students to think and work like scientists as they learn and practice the skills of observation, deductive and inductive reasoning, experimentation, analysis of results, and lab report writing. # Emphasizes the relevance of the laboratory exercise to everyday life. # The lab exercises use common lab supplies and equipment - sources for anything specific are provided. # Internet website addresses are included where applicable. These can be expanded into additional course activities or used by students for further research. Suitable for Environmental Science, Environmental Conservation, Natural Resource Management courses.
