"Experiences d'enlevement d'un helicoptre" ("Experiments with the Lifting Ability of a Helicopter" or "lifting force") in Comptes Rendus de l Acad�mie des Sciences,15 May 1905, vol 140, pp 1311-2 in the full weekly issue, extracted from a larger bound volume. This was evidently the work of Maurice Leger, and was one of the earliest technical and advanced attempts (with counter-rotating rotors and variable-pitch blades) at creating the modern helicopter. He didn't achieve sustained flight but he did make breakthroughs in design. $195.
