Series: Document / House of Representatives ; 55th congress, 3d session, document no. 277 / Water-supply and irrigation paper ; no. 20 / Water-supply and irrigation papers of the United States Geological Survey ; nos 41-42. We here offer two papers (in three parts) published at the turn of the last century regarding design and use of the windmill in the United States. Part II of the Murphy paper "is a continuation of the material published as Paper no. 41, it being necessary to divide the manuscript on account of the limitation imposed by law of 100 printed pages for each pamphlet." (letter of transmittal, The windmill, part II). Though rebound in buckram (with loss of original paper wrappers), these are not former library copies. Binding sturdy; lower fore-corner of first half dozen leaves of Experiments with windmills folded over and mis-trimmed, else contents excellent. 670 grams.
