Exploring People of the Old Testament (The John Phillips Bible Character Series), Volume 1

Many pastors, teachers, and students have grown to rely on the John Phillips Commentary series for its sound and practical exposition of Scripture. Written in the same tradition, this new series by John Phillips examines the lives of important Bible characters and shows how their lives are still applicable to today's Christian. Volume 1 provides a rich exposition of 27 people from the Old Testament. Readers will gain fresh insight into well-known characters like Adam, Noah, and Joseph. Lesser-known Old Testament characters like Jochebed (mother of Moses) and Issachar (Jacob's ninth son) are also discussed in detail. Exploring People of the Bible is an incredible resource for anyone who desires to explore the meaning of God's Word in greater depth. Detailed outlines and numerous illustrations and quotations will be of great value to pastors and teachers as they prepare for sermons and lessons.

John Phillips (1927-2010) served as assistant director of the Moody Correspondence School as well as director of the Emmaus Correspondence School, one of the world’s largest Bible correspondence ministries. He also taught in the Moody Evening School and on the Moody Broadcasting radio network.
