Bruce Ravelli loves teaching and has been inspiring and challenging students for over 25 years. His students often comment on his engaging lectures, passion for sociology and his commitment to high academic standards. Bruce teaches Introduction to Sociology, Classical Sociological Theory, Mass Communication and Honour's Seminar courses for his department.

Bruce has written textbooks on introductory sociology as well as articles and book chapters on Canadian culture, cross-national value differences and students’ anonymous evaluation of teaching. Besides writing, he is also a co-developer and co-sponsor of a free online software tool allowing teachers to assess his/her teaching/courses at any point during the term (www.toofast.ca). Bruce offers workshops and presentations on the software, and on the benefits of using anonymous student assessment, across North America. Bruce is also an active faculty member at Mount Royal University and sits on various departmental and institution-wide committees. Michelle Webber received her Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. Her research interests lie in the sociology of education and sociology of gender. She has regularly taught introductory sociology over the last 10 years. Michelle has published articles and book chapters on feminist pedagogies, the regulation of academic work, the work of teaching assistants, the experiences of contingent faculty members, and feminist knowledges. She has co-edited Rethinking Society in the 21st Century: Critical Readings in Sociology (First and Second Editions) with Kate Bezanson. Her current research project is funded by SSHRC and is an investigation of the tenure system in social sciences faculties in Ontario universities. The research team is headed by Sandra Acker (University of Toronto, Principal Investigator) and also includes Elizabeth Smyth (University of Toronto). Michelle is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Brock University in Ontario.
