Octavo. Limited to 1000 copies. The present copy is #648 signed by the author and president Jim Rikhoff. 246 pages. Foreword by John H. Batten. Color frontispiece by Carl Rungius. The hydro-electric dam and the growth of travel and industry has changed the ecology where, though they were elusive, the big horn sheep proliferated in the wilderness country. In 1930-1932, plans to photograph and identify the habitat of the wild sheep were made. It was Sheldon who felt he should be a hunter-naturalist rather than just a hunter for statistics. A fine copy bound in dark blue leather pictorially stamped in gilt, pictorial spine gilt, silk endpapers, all edges gilt, housed within a paper covered slipcase. Seller Inventory # 031827
