Fine condition. 52 pp., including a plan (on page 19) showing a comparison of the Suez and proposed Nicaragua Canals. This work opposes the building of a Nicaragua canal, preferring the building of a "ship railway" where ships would be loaded onto railroad cars for transport between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
