On rear of title page is a single page of publishers ads for Uniform Editions of Charles Darwin, ad is undated. Includes Sept. 2, 1889 preface by Francis Darwin. With 21 engravings, and seven black and white heliotype photographic plates. Two of the seven heliotypes have (I & VI) have separated where tipped-in. Publisher s green cloth with gilt titles to spine, blind stamped ruled border and decoration to front and rear board. Chalk-board black paste-downs includes early owner s bookplate, occasional light pencil markings in end matters, otherwise text block is unmarked.
