Synopsis
If we analyze the statement given by our Honorable Prime Minister that the university does not stand only for Teaching and research The University have great role and responsibly towards solely. A University expected to serve. The societal realities are the source content of knowledge on which the university exists. In 1977, The University Grants Commission have decided to include Extension as the thirds dimension in university system of higher education, which will act of bridge between universities and society.
This extension is a new extremely significant area which should be developed on the basis of high priority. Kothari commission report emphasized the importance of linkage between Education and Society. According to report, extension and field outreach is essential for making education relevant to real life situation.
Preventing the alienation of education from society and for developing a sense of responsibility towards society.
About the Author
Dr. Hemant Kumar Khandai did his M.A. (Education) and B.Ed. from Utkal University Orisa and did M.A. (Philosophy), M.Phil. (Education) Ph.D. (Education) from Devi Ahilya University, Indore (M.P.) and completed diploma in Human Resource Management (H.R.M.) from Vinayak Mission University Tamilnadu.
He started his carrier as district supervisor of District Primary education program in of District Primary education program in C.G. Under N.C.E.R.T. Project New Delhi, and later joined as state coordinator NIEPA project New Delhi. He has worked in International Labour Organization project as resource officer in state resource center Indore. Presently he is working in Continuing Education Department, Barkatullah University, Bhopal as incharge of B.Ed. section.
Dr. Khandai worked as professor of Education in Eritrea institute of Education (EIT) North Africa and attended number of National & International Seminars, Conferences and Workshops. He visited Thailand, Bangladesh Yagun, Dubai, Yaman & Eritrea. He has conducted number of seminars conferences on Teacher Education.
He is also an Editor of a national Journal, 50 research a rticles, 3 books to his credit. He is associated to U.G.C. NGO's, NCTE & various universities of India and abroad.
Pro. Kalika Yadav is currently working as professor, Director of Continuing Education and Extension Barkatullah University Bhopal. An alumnus of Banaras Hindu University and Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi. He is Ph.D. in Economics and P.G. Diploma in Adult Education
He has published more than 30 research papers & articles in reputed & referred Journals on different area of Adult Education and Extension Education. He worked for society by imparting literacy & Vocational Education. He was awarded with Sardar Patel international literacy award for Adult literature. He has more than 26 years of teaching and research experience four Ph.D.'s has been awarded in his supervision.
Ms. Anshu Mathur is Assistant Professor in Bhopal School of Social Sciences, Bhopal and working on new framework for teacher's education in India. She has published many research papers, Co-editor of National Journal and has actively participated in many scholarly events.
