Single sheet, 150 x 185 mm. A little browned with old creases and an old rust mark. Edward Bulwer [he changed his name to Bulwer-Lytton in 1844 following the terms of his mother's will], was elected to Parliament in 1831 for St Ives, then sat for Lincoln from 1832 to 1841. He was an ardent supporter of the Reform Bill of 1832. This letter would appear to be an appeal to voters during the heated debates during 1830 when Wellington, a fervent opponent, was subsequently forced to resign as Prime Minister.
