This book is about what the title suggests, the devil on the wall in Danish churches/frescoes in all sizes and shapes. The devil mostly depicts hell and doomsday. Illustrated examples warn churchgoers about blasphemy, and it is shown how the witch gets her strength from the devil by a cut in his behind, where she taps his blood into a large pitcher. The general idea seems to relate to original sin with Eve giving Adam the apple, i.e. the man tempts the woman and she agrees to whatever the sin may be., Danish, Year1978, Illust. B/W33, Illust. Color74, ISBN 8785160555, Code 1285. Hardbound, Not in perfect condition., Bibl. Pages 112, Size 10öx7ö.
