Autobiography of Hon. George Robert Canning Harris, later Lord Harris. Harris virtually ran Kent cricket for a period of about 50 years, having been appointed captain of the county side in 1871. He played for the county from 1870 to 1911, and represented England as captain in each of his four Tests (1878-79-1884). He was President of MCC in 1895. Apparently, his fiery temper made him a fearsome opponent both on and off the field. 8vo. vii + 296pp. Portrait frontis. (tissue-guard). Some browning to endpapers and the front gutter is becoming exposed. In the original red cloth boards, gilt titles to spine. Good condition.
