Synopsis
FIFTY/FIFTY: Retired judge Hudson only wans a peaceful holiday in his favorite sports car a Jaguar XK140, but his holiday is barely begun when a chance meeting on US Highway 50 starts the story of an unusual relationship between the fifty-year-old judge, his 50-year old car and a refreshingly nubile damsel in distress. FIFTY/FIFTY is the tale of prudent man looking for escape from cares, fascinated by Betty Ruth Jordan , a tantalizing, titillating, bewitching sex-kitten of a girl with an ambition to get herself seduced. FIFTY/FIFTY is exceptionally well written. I suspect that it will also act as something of a literary personality test separating reader’s reactions by gender. Judge Hudson pauses in his trek across highway 50 to rescue a young lady in distress, not anticipating that his act of gallantry will place him and the girl in deadly danger. Racing across the mountains of Colorado and Utah, through the high desert ranges of Nevada, the unlikely couple are pursed by gunmen and policemen alike. Hudson's days are spent eluding bullets and his nights spent eluding his nubile passenger. Betty Ruth is determined to surrender her virginity, whether her rescuer is willing to assist in the endeavor or not. Marie Landis, Author of "Memorymakers" and "Blood on the Sun" describes the novel as "A great tale, full of suspense and lots of exciting ‘hooks’ to keep the reader’s interest. I liked the oddly matched protagonists. They are a delightful pair and their misadventures exciting to follow.” You are welcome to join Judge Hudson, his Jaguar, and the delightful Miss Betty Ruth Jordan, in this thrilling adventure on the Lincoln Highway.
From the Author
Fifty/Fifty started as a simple adventure-a curious drive along the Lincoln Highway. The heroine had to be in trouble to justify a prudent man's rescue. The girl had to have some mystery to justify his continued interest. After that, as happens all too often, the Highway and the Girl captured the story, turning the adventure into a racy thriller. The planned holiday of Judge Harold J. Hudson became a chase across the western U.S., pursued by unknown antagonists. The Judge and his companion were forced to rely more and more on each other until the culmination of the misadventure became the culmination of the relationship.
