A FIGHTING MAN OF MARS: EDGAR RICE BURRO

Book 7 of the Barsoom Saga - Authorized by Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., and Featuring Rare and Previously Unpublished Archival Materials

Tan Hadron is just a lowly padwar who joined the service of Tardos Mors, Jeddak of Helium, so he might wield his sword nearer to the side of John Carter, Warlord of Mars. After the beautiful, noble-born Sanoma Tora cruelly rejected Tan Hadron's appeal of love due to his low rank and social standing, he might have left her to her fate when she was kidnapped. But Tan Hadron, though of poor means, is not just any man, for he sets out selflessly to pursue her abductors to the very ends of Barsoom. To achieve his goal, he must confront dangers as daunting as any faced by his revered Warlord, for the wicked Jeddak of Jahar and a madman with the ultimate superweapon stand in his way.

The creator of the immortal characters Tarzan of the Apes and John Carter of Mars, Edgar Rice Burroughs is one of the world's most popular authors. His timeless tales of heroes and heroines transport readers from the jungles of Africa and the dead sea bottoms of Barsoom to the miles-high forests of Amtor and the savage inner world of Pellucidar, and even to alien civilizations beyond the farthest star. Mr. Burroughs' books are estimated to have sold hundreds of millions of copies, and they have spawned 60 films and 250 television episodes.

David Weber is the author of the popular Honor Harrington and Honorverse novels and the Safehold series. Since selling his first novel in 1989, he has written more than 75 solo and collaborative novels and edited numerous anthologies. Thirty-five of his books have been New York Times bestsellers. Weber has a bachelor's degree from Warren Wilson College, and attended graduate school in history at Appalachian State University. He lives in South Carolina.

Joe Jusko is among today's most acclaimed fantasy, pin-up, and comic artists. His work has been featured on book and comic posters, and on the much-praised 1992 Marvel Masterpieces trading cards. Jusko is a recipient of myriad industry honors, including a Certificate of Merit from the Society of Illustrators and a 2001 Chesley Award nomination. Fittingly, he was born on September 1, sharing his birthday with Edgar Rice Burroughs. Jusko's longtime love of Burroughs' work continues to inspire him in illustrating the Authorized Library and bringing the author's creative vision to life.
