THE FIRE SHALL NEVER GO OUT

“Fire shall be kept burning continually on the altar; it is not to go out.” (Leviticus 6:13)

Every altar in the Bible is a place where something dies, where God meets man, and where the fire falls. From the coats of skin God made in Eden to the Lamb on the throne in Revelation, the altar runs through the whole Bible, and every true altar points to the cross.

In The Fire Shall Never Go Out, Pastor Rev. Joseph Holmes and Pastor Rev. Johnny Embry trace the altar from Genesis to Revelation. Stand with Abel and Noah, walk up Mount Moriah with Abraham and Isaac, learn the five offerings of Leviticus one by one, and watch Elijah repair a broken altar before the fire falls. Then see every one of those altars fulfilled at Calvary.

But the altar did not end at the cross. God still calls His people to present themselves as living sacrifices and to keep the fire burning. That raises a question every believer must settle: can the fire go out? Carefully and from the text, this book examines the teaching of “once saved, always saved,” walks through the warning passages of Scripture, answers the verses most often used to support it, and shows why it cannot stand. It is just as clear that a believer who stumbles is not thrown away, and that the way back to the altar stays open to everyone who repents.

Inside you will find:

• The five offerings of Leviticus and how Christ fulfilled each one
• Every major altar in the Bible, from Eden to the end of the age
• A Scripture-by-Scripture answer to “once saved, always saved”
• How to keep a daily altar, a family altar, and a heart on fire
• Teaching on the altar call, praying through at the altar, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit
• Study questions, a memory verse, and a Pastor’s Note for all 61 chapters
• Appendices on the offerings, every altar in Scripture, Hebrew and Greek words, the warning passages, and a full Scripture index

Written in clear, story-driven chapters for every believer, with tools for pastors, teachers, and small groups, this is a book to read straight through and to preach from.

The brick altar on the cover is real. Pastor Rev. Johnny Embry built it in 1995 on the spot where God called him to a ministry of prayer, and his Foreword tells that story.

The Fire Shall Never Go Out is Book Six of The Concealed & Revealed series. Scripture quotations are from the New American Standard Bible (1995).
