About this Item

Department of The Army Field Manual dated February 1951. First combination of the FM 31-20 'short title' with the 'long title'? Binding is tight; Unused. Marked as 'RESTRICTED'. Tan soft cover with aging near the margins. Internal pages aged along margins. Very small smudge (old fingerprint?) along bottom edge of back soft cover. From Foreword: 'The first three chapters of the manual cover the general characteristics, organization and operations of guerilla forces. To enable the reader to understand guerilla warfare better, the underlying factors that foster guerilla forces are briefly discussed. Chapter 4 developes the principles for combating hostile guerilla forces. Since the scope of the manual applies to commanders on all levels, and because the policies of all echelons of command influence the success of a command as a whole, the principles developed extend from a national level through the command echelons within a theater of operations.' Contents: Introduction, Examples of guerilla activities in World War II, Various aspects of guerilla warfare, Guerilla organization, Guerilla Operations, Combating guerillas - General, Forces employed, Intelligence, Administrative measures, Security, Offensive action, Special guerilla units, Special considerations. References. Advice to Instructors. 146 pages. Korean War era. Steve's Bookshelves LLC Inventory #07-002802-4530. Bookseller Inventory # 002802
