Item description from seller

McGraw-Hill Book Company, Inc., 1949, Second Edition. The American Forest Series. First Edition was 1921, by Wiley & Sons. Charts and graphs throughout. The second edition carries over fundamental techniques but the contents have been completely re-written, re-arranged, and extended to include the more essential techniques that have been developed since the first edition. The economic approach has been retained--this book deals first with uses and products, which gives the basis for all other steps in mensuration. It satisfies the need for an elementary course as well as an advanced course in forest mensuration--measurement of products and logs; measurement in a tree; in a stands of timber; of growth of trees. The book is bound in burgundy cloth, titles on front rubbed nearly off; on spine, titles in black title panel are rubbed but readable. The cover is all rubbed but clean and unmarked. It is a heavy, solid book. Sewn binding is tight and solid. Pages edges tanned. Front loose endpaper has pencil writing. A few penciled notes--most pages completely clean, unmarked, no creases or tears. xiii, 522 pages. 9.4 x 6.25 x 1.5 inches. Appendix: Tables. Index.
