FOREVER FOREST

Celebrate the rich heritage of Nottingham Forest Football Club with the definitive chronicle of the original Reds across a century and a half of English football excellence.

In 2015, Nottingham Forest marked 150 years as the second oldest professional football league club in the world. In Forever Forest, official club historian Don Wright charts the vivid legacy of the team, tracing its path from Victorian recreation grounds to European fame. Inspired by Italian freedom fighter Garibaldi's redshirts, the young founders created an enduring footballing dynasty.

Inside this commemorative volume, supporters and sports enthusiasts will discover:

• In-depth profiles of influential managers, iconic players, and devoted club officials.
• Tactical milestones and unforgettable match moments across fifteen decades.
• The historical origin of the famous Garibaldi red shirts and club identity.
• Lesser-known locker room anecdotes, trivia, and pivotal league campaigns.

This volume offers an essential tribute to the people and matches that defined a historic soccer institution.

A retired newspaper editor, Don Wright became Nottingham Forest’s honorary historian in 2009. He has followed Forest’s fortunes from childhood despite being born on the wrong side of the River Erewash, at Ilkeston in Derbyshire. As a player, he found his level in the Midland Amateur Alliance. He was leader writer for The Footballer magazine and contributed ‘From where I’m sitting’, a column of reflection and opinion, to the Forest programme.
