Ex-library stamps and markings. Frontis is a portrait of Jean de La Fontaine. A couple stray marks, otherwise interior pages are clean, unmarked and in excellent condition. Filled with beautiful of Gustave Dore engravings. Dore worked primarily with wood and steel engraving and is best known for his illustrations of Paradise Lost, The Divine Comedy, The Raven, and his pieces in Illustrated London News.
