New Edition (Third Printing). Hardcover [Slipcase]. Fabre's Book of Insects is a retelling of Alexander Teixeira de Mattos' translation of Jean-Henri Fabre's Souvenirs entomologique, a project that Matto considered his greatest achievement. Fabre's work is a series of texts on insects and arachnids. It talks about insects in real life, mythology and folklore. He influenced the later writings of Charles Darwin, who called Fabre "an inimitable observer". Inscription to Oliver Sacks at ffep. Uncommon in original box. From the library of Dr. Oliver Sacks, the renowned neurologist, author, and educator.
