About the Author
Ruth Chandler grew up in Japan where the vibrant color and texture of Japanese fabric combined with the simplicity of Japanese design caught Ruth's attention. Ruth learned basic Sashiko from an elderly neighbor and at the age of 10 she began to create and sew her own clothes which became an outlet for her imagination and creativity.
Heather Thomas began quilting over 23 years ago, taking a turn toward art quilting around the year 2000. She self-publishes her line of more than 100 patterns under the name Wild Heather Designs. She has been teaching her designs and techniques for over 15 years and, for the past 10 years, has taught a 13-month color and design class during which she has worked with more than 2,000 aspiring artists.
Lauren Vlcek, an accomplished artist and doll maker, has been creating and selling one-of-a-kind works of art for over fifteen years. Her unique talent and years of experience have culminated in inspiring fiber/mixed media art works.
