First Thus. A facsimile of the original. "Treasury department, Register's office, 1st June, 1833. General Washington's account of expenses during the revolutionary war, in his own hand writing, is on file in this office: --the annexed is a fac simile copy thereof. [Signed] Mich 1 Nourse, Chief clerk in the Register's office". This book is bound in imitation Morocco leather. The most of the spine is missing and covers have separated hanging by one thread only. The back cover is partially bound to signatures beginning with page 36. Other signatures are loose. There is heavy foxing on the preliminary pages, and lighter foxing throughout the book but the text is generally clean and unmarked. Publisher's notice cut and pasted on the front paste-down indicates that "profits from the sale of this work will benefit the Washington Manual Labor School and Male Orphan Asylum." Elegant period signature of the previous owner. 52 numbered pages. A fragile copy of an important document in the history of our Democracy.…
