With an Introduction by Leonard Baskin, and a dedication print by Lynd Ward. Penmaen / Busyhaus Publications. The portfolio consists of 13 full page engravings printed letterpress on 80lb. Mohawk Superfine Cover. Each print contained in a deckled wrapper of fawn-colored Rising Stonehenge paper which also serves as the vehicle for a page of biographical letterpress text on each artist. LIMITED TO 250 COPIES, printed by Harlod McGrath. EACH PLATE IS SIGNED BY THE ARTIST. Contained in a special tray-case box with genuine endgrain maple spine into which the title FACE TO FACE has been engraved. A mint copy of this magnificent production. This project was created in honor of Lynd Ward, noted American artist and wood-engraver, for his 80th birthday. Each of the 12 contributing artists was given a 6 x 8 block of boxwood and invited to engrave a self portrait on the block. Some 2750 impressions were required to complete the edition of 250 boxed sets, including artist's proofs.
