Nina Maddox used to be hot stuff on the silver screen—red carpets, flashbulbs, champagne. But now she’s traded movie premieres for police tape, working as a private eye in the city where every smile is for sale and every secret’s got a price tag.

But there’s a slight problem with her latest case—she’s not entirely sure there’s a victim.
