Faerie Yarns

Someone asked, "What is a faerie garden?" Another replied, "It is simply a garden where faeries live, that is, if you believe in faeries and I do." Several others joined in to announce their affinity for believing in faeries. Thus this small group of women formed a writing group and called themselves "The Faeries."This book is a sampling of the best short stories and poems written by these eleven women. Members of "The Faeries" meet once a month on the Eastern Shore of Virginia where most of them live. They all write a short story or poem on a topic that has been agreed upon. Writing is an art form. The span of short stories and poems shared here is a fascinating mosaic of colorful words. In this book you will find cherished memories and intimate stories revealed as the treasures they are.

Betty Ross and Grace Wakefield, both editors of Faerie Yarns, live on the Eastern Shore of VA. Betty is the author of "The Dragonfly Queen" and Grace authored " Felicity"- both are children's books. Both editors have been members of the Faerie Writing Group since its inception in 2002. It was time to put some of the group's writings together to celebrate ten years of working and writing together.
